With the Curragh on our doorstep and with a private 3 furlong all weather gallop on the farm we have the facilities and experience to break and pre-train stock. 

The facilities and peaceful environment in Eyrefield allow us nurture, rear and develop stock from conception through to retirement.



Robert Byrne

Robert Byrne is a well-known figure in the bloodstock industry. A Curragh native, Robert’s family have always been involved in horses and breeding. His Great Grandmother Bridget Lawlor bred Mill House from her Punchestown farm. His father John Byrne is a vet and partner in Sycamore Lodge Veterinary Practice on the Curragh. 


Robert served his time with trainers in France and America before spending over 15 years managing private stud farms for clients in Ireland. Roberts experience speaks for itself, however it is his dedication and hands on approach that will ensure your stock will be in the best care. Having formed Platinum Bloodstock in 2013 Robert has enjoyed success both in the sales ring and on the track. Graduates of Platinum Bloodstock include horses such as Dawn of Hope, Ayrad, Scarlet Dragon, Best Dating, Roconga, Our Conor, Athenian Way and Victory Command.  



Eyrefield House Stud is a farm steeped in history. Situated just a stones throw from the Curragh, Co. Kildare the farm was owned in the 1800’s by legendary breeder and trainer Henry Eyre Linde. It was also home to the famous Beasley Brothers best known for their Aintree Grand National successes. The farm was later owned by the Aga Khan and was purchased by its present owners, The Dargan Family in 1986. Irish St Leger winner Royal Highway stood at Eyrefield House Stud and the farm has produced a series of renowned racehorses such as Captain Gerrard, leading Hong Kong miler Man of Honour and Group winners Ramone and Xenobia.
